CV score checker

Have your CV open and answer honestly. This is a self-check based on what recruiters look for. It is not an automated scan, so the more honest you are, the more useful the result.

  1. 1. My CV is no longer than two pages (one page if I am early in my career).
  2. 2. It opens with a short professional summary (3 to 4 lines) written for the role I want.
  3. 3. My experience shows results and numbers, not just duties.
  4. 4. Each bullet starts with a strong action verb (led, built, improved, delivered).
  5. 5. I adjust my CV for each job using words from the job advert.
  6. 6. My contact details are complete and professional (phone, sensible email, LinkedIn link).
  7. 7. The layout is clean: one readable font, consistent headings, no tables or heavy graphics.
  8. 8. Education and certificates are listed with dates, most relevant first.
  9. 9. It has no spelling or grammar mistakes, and someone else has proofread it.
  10. 10. Any gaps in my work history are explained briefly or filled with relevant activity.
  11. 11. My skills section names real, role-relevant skills and tools, not vague words like "hardworking".
  12. 12. I send it as a PDF with a sensible name, such as Firstname-Lastname-CV.pdf.
